Only one month to count down before our next road-trip to Florida! Peter and I are so excited for another "just us" trip! One of our favorite parts of our Disney vacations is THE FOOD!!! I have been so busy with the holidays, etc., I hadn't finalized our dining reservations. I fixed that over the weekend and finally have everything booked. I am very excited to try several "new to us" restaurants this time, as well as a few repeat favorites. Of course, we are doing the Dining Plan again this year, as it works perfectly for us, not only saving us money, but giving us a larger selection of "pricey" restaurants to choose from. Dining is very expensive (especially in places like WDW), but buying the Dining Plan lets us choose restaurants that we otherwise, probably couldn't afford or wouldn't splurge on (not the entire trip anyway).
Peter has no input what-so-ever in trip planning. This is his choice, not mine (but secretly I'm okay with that). I LOVE TRIP PLANNING!!!!! And since he always enjoys everything I plan for us, I'll just keep doing it!
I always run stuff by him, but he never has any objections. The only thing he insists on every trip though, is eating at one of his favorite restaurants in WDW.....
(1) Cape May Cafe'
at Beach Club Resort
at Beach Club Resort
That was the first reservation I booked after figuring out park days. We don't do park-hopper tickets, so I try to work around where we will be each day.
I also booked
(2) O'Hana
at the Polynesian Resort
If I had to choose a favorite restaurant it would have to be OHana! We've eaten here several times and always look forward to going back.
The atmosphere and food are awesome!
It's extra special if you book during Wishes fireworks!
(3) Rainforest Cafe'
(Animal Kingdom location)
Rainforest Cafe' is another repeat.
I love the menu variety and the food is delish!
(4) Big River Grille & Brewing Works
on the Boardwalk
This is new to us!
The location is great and I'm excited to try the food.
(5) Via Napoli
Italy in Epcot
I can't wait to try the Tiramisu!
For our last table service dining choice, I decided to book a signature restaurant.
(6) Narcoossee's
at The Grand Floridian Resort
This restaurant requires 2 dining credits but you can order anything off the menu, including the steak and lobster dinner @$75.00 a plate!
I am VERY excited to try Narcoossee's!
If we end up checking in a day early like we did last year, we might try
House of Blues
in Downtown Disney.
We will pay OOP for this meal (since our dining plan won't start until our booked check-in day). House of Blues is new to us but looks fun and the menu looks yummy!

Oh Susan, you'd made me want to go to Disney !!!!....Irene
Irene ~ it's worth the trip just for the food!.....(although, we actually love everything about Disney)! :O):O):O)Have you been back since our '87 road trip? That was fun!:O)
no...:(....Becky had your blog on and I was checking it out and I came across your Disney food, one word.. WOW !I have been on here seeing if you posted anything about resorts but can't find anything...??
The tab on the side labeled DISNEY has all posts about our Disney trips. We've stayed at mostly moderates and one time at Beach Club (deluxe), but tried a value (All Star Movies) last year and was just as pleased. We're staying at another value this year. The price for staying on property is great. We do resort/tickets/dining package every time. Once you pay for that, you are out nothing but spending money/tips, etc. I love having everything paid for before we go. The dining plan includes most all restaurants in Disney. You order ANYTHING off the menu and never look at the price (food prices are ridiculous- but you know that owning a restaurant!!).
There are discounts out all through the year. The best place to look is right on the Walt Disney World website. We book through them (online). Well, I'm rambling! Can you tell I'm excited????
