Rowen {10 months}

07.29.18
Rowen is ten months old!
  • crawls & pulls up
  • has 8 teeth
  • pat-a-cakes, waves bye-bye, blows kisses (and gives kisses), does "how big"
  • says mama, dada, hey, and hollers when you tell him too ðŸ˜‚
  • enjoys any and everything (there's nothing this kids doesn't like)
  • sleeps 12 hours at night and he recently started taking 2 naps a day

He has grown soooo much in these past 10 months and he has the absolute best personality. He's so friendly and loving to everyone!! We're so blessed!  - Facebook post by Kayla

zero food waste [2]

[Zero Food Waste] I buy bags of frozen fruit, but I mostly cut up and freeze my left-over or over-ripe fresh fruit which is much cheaper.

While I've always bought several containers of milk at a time and frozen, I just recently started freezing milk [that will soon go bad] in ice cube trays for smoothies or frozen hot chocolate.

Easy strawberry-kiwi smoothie recipe:
milk ice cubes
vanilla yogurt
frozen strawberries & kiwi
vanilla protein powder or honey [to sweeten]

{Zero Food Waste}

I usually make a big pan of Chicken Parmesan from scratch, but when you are cooking for one you have to get creative. I try to use up what I have in the fridge, so with leftover pizza sauce, a little mozzarella cheese, and some spaghetti noodles to work with, I made Chicken Parmesan for one! I breaded the chicken breast (cut in half lengthwise) with Panko bread crumbs /salt/pepper and pan fried. Then, I transferred it to a baking dish and topped with pizza sauce, mozzarella/parmesan cheese, and oregano. Served over spaghetti noodles--delish!

*SUMMER* Stitch Fix Box

Stitch Fix
Summer Box

So, my summer box arrived today and here's what I got......

(1) Diba Indio Suede Peep Toe Heel - $89

These shoes fit like a glove! Unfortunately, I don't wear too many heels and they were too pricey. They are super cute though!!
(RETURN)

(2) Daniel Rainn Calisto Pleat Detail Tulip Sleeve Blouse -$64
I really liked this top - perfect fit, I like the keyhole neckline in front and the pleated detail in back. I think it would pair up nicely with a pair of olive skinny jeans and black sandals. I would have kept this but the tulip sleeves were cut up too high. I like a little sleeve in my tops.
(RETURN)

(3) Market & Spruce Pardee Cross Back Detail Knit Top -$44

This top was super cute!! it was too short though for my style. It looked really good with the red skinny jeans up next.
(RETURN)

(4) Warp & Weft Clare Frayed Hem Skinny Jean - $78

Cute - but they plain out just didn't fit!
(RETURN)

(5) Market & Spruce Derryl Applique Detail Linen Tunic - $68

I LOVE THIS!!!
It fit perfectly, I love the style! I think it will look great
with olive or dark washed jeans plus black sandals. :O)
(KEEP)

THOUGHTS: I was really happy, overall, with the items my stylist picked out for me. I liked all 5 pieces but really love the tunic I kept!

Tunic = $68.00
   fee   - $20.00
-------------------
                      $48.00 + tax

[personal goal]

My personal goal this year has been to read through the entire Bible. I've started and failed many times through the years, but I really think I'm going to do it this time!! :O)

This morning, I completed the New Testament!!!

I still have a lot of the Old Testament left to read. but I've picked up my pace and know I can finish up by September 30th!!

I pulled out my "you are my sunshine mug" for some sunny days inspiration
--it has seriously been raining for 40 days and 40 nights!!!

breakfast pretty much consists of either coffee or a smoothie or both!
Peaches & Cream Smoothie was the flavor yesterday! :O)

Still reading through the Psalms for my #1adaybible devotions.

I love when my kids share inspirational things with me
(in this case Logan).
It encourages me to know that they know WHO is in the midst of all that takes place in our lives-
in the good times and the bad.
Thank you Lord for simple reminders!!

Little things that bring us great JOY!

island life......

I'm obsessed with taking pictures and this one is such a keepsake!
How else will I remember this random Monday morning spent with Rowen!
That sweet "puff" in his wavy hair even puffier after a ride on Pop Pop's scooter. 💙
I love the church in the background and how this picture just screams island life to me.
