[WINTER] Stitch Fix

WINTER FIX ❄️
my stylist knocked it out of the park this time with all 5 items! 💗

1️⃣ jeans - I’ve said this before, but if you only do @stitchfix for their jeans - it’s worth it!!!
The quality, style, fit, and even the price, makes their jeans my go to for “perfect” jeans. ☑️

2️⃣ I’ve been eyeing tops with a pop of floral and this hooded pullover had the perfect color combo = charcoal + deep rose. 🌺

3️⃣ a long neutral cardigan - who doesn’t need a soft, comfy cardigan to add to their winter capsule? Perfect for layering with either of the next 2 tops below w/jeans and booties. I’m ready to pack now for our next getaway!

4️⃣ this taupe-y neutral top has an amazing fit. The knotted bottom helps give a more flattering look around my middle. ☺️

5️⃣ a striped top is a closet staple. Mine needed replacing and this one does the job with its soft, stretchy fabric and longer hemline in the back. 🖤

I HAD to keep this entire box! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I needed another pair of jeans, and was ready to replace a few pieces in my winter capsule wardrobe. It’s also a better deal if you keep all 5 pieces (of course🤦🏼‍♀️) since you get a 25% discount plus you get to deduct your $20 styling fee. 💗

MEAL PLANNING

MENU PLAN MONDAY
01.20.20 - 02.02.20

Planned out meals for the next 2 weeks and did a grocery haul before coming home on Monday. Now that the holidays are over, I’m ready to get back on track with being more organized with meal planning which really helps cut our food budget. Here’s what’s on the menu to finish out January thru the first week of February (I don’t assign specific days for meals, but have all the ingredients on hand for whatever we are in the mood for that day or what meal I have time to cook.)

Winter weather calls for lots of soups and comfort foods.❄️ We got home late on the boat Monday evening, so we just did some fried shrimp in the air fryer. Tuesday it was freezing, and cold days call for breakfast for dinner, so we had homemade chipped beef on toast and scrambled eggs.

Wednesday: balsamic chicken salad

Thursday: Shrimp Po’Boys

Friday: make-your-own pizza night

Saturday: we had steaks marinating, but ended up getting chicken salads from Double Six.

Sunday: Steaks, onions & mushrooms, baked potatoes, & roasted asparagus

Also on the menu - bbq chicken, clams casino, taco soup, spaghetti, vegetable beef soup, turkey clubs, pizzaburger loaf, baked chicken, and crab cakes. I still haven’t decided on our Super Bowl food yet, because for me, the Super Bowl is all about the food, the half-time show, and the commercials.

{sleepover}

Mommy and Daddy went off for a night,
so Rowen had a sleepover with Nana and Pop Pop.
He was such a good boy and we had so much fun!!

helping Nana! :O)

play....play....play....then a few minutes of quiet time with his tablet.

make-your-own pizza night for dinner

bedtime - round 1

bedtime - round 2

Rowen still sleeps very good alone in the guest room in the pack-n-play.
I use the video monitor to keep an eye on him,
but he sleeps great - 10:15 p.m. til 9 a.m.

when a hole in your jams drives you nuts....
he is sooooo Nathan's child LOL

Rowen "needed" the clothes basket!
....that's okay...the clothes have FINALLY been put away!!

and he's a happy boy!! <3 <3 <3

Doing another #moneysavingchallenge this year but starting off easy
with a $1,000 goal. So far, I've saved $112.00!

{three}

I spent the night in the hospital with Mom after she was taken out on the medivac last Thursday. She had a kidney stone/infection. Actually, 2 patients went in the same helicopter - Cindy Wheatley had to go too, and I rode up by boat with Jenny and Alyssa on Dan's boat (It was a rough ride but thankful  to them for taking me!!!) She passed it early the next morning and was discharged, she's doing much better!!   PRAISE THE LORD!!!

{four}

Planning our little Valentine's Day getaway!!

We are headed to Virginia Beach this year and I'm all about the planning!!!!

{five}

New luggage!!!
While traveling on the train and all over New York, I realized our luggage situation was NOT up to par! We were all about over-packing those coffin-sized suitcases that don't roll good and are just wayyyy too hard to handle. So, a new suitcase was on my wishlist for Christmas and this is the one I bought with Mom and Dad's money.

Can't wait to pack it up!!

XOXO

-Morning Routine-

✨Morning Routine✨

my favorite time of day - morning.

Devotions, prayer, coffee,
and some quiet time set the tone for my day.
This, for me, is self-care, which seems to be
more and more important the older I get. ❤️

It's JANUARY = let's get ORGANIZED!

IT'S JANUARY = let’s get organized!

Following along with Laurie @theglamfarmhouse for a weekly organization challenge. ☑️

First, it was go clean your fridge and junk drawer. I did the fridge/freezer first and managed to fill a trash bag full of leftover holiday food and expired stuff.

I also made an inventory of what’s in the freezer and planned a
week’s worth of meals using stuff only on hand. I was already using a few organizers,
including these handled bins which are perfect for storing
smoothie ingredients together.

On to the junk drawer - ready to toss out more clutter!

This is a huge drawer that is really being misused. I only keep envelopes, keys, kids stuff for outside, and a few misc. items. I'd like to do away with having a "junk" drawer, and actually put this space to good use.

Storing the extra Mrs. Meyers Dish Detergent I bought on sale in my last GROVE order. Snagged some of my favorite holiday scents plus a few of my most used basics in my order last month.

I ended up cleaning out the drawer above it too. This one holds dish towels and rags, pot holders and foil, plastic bags, etc. I was low on most supplies in this drawer as well as needing to replace my worn towels, rags, and pot holders. I did a WALMART order and got this nice set from Mainstay to replace my old stuff.

Next, the pantry and spice cabinet....

this pantry cupboard and a cabinet for spices/baking goods are the only cabinets I use for food.

cupcake liner & sprinkles storage

I use this stackable, lockable storage container for spices.

Came across this package of Kodiak Cakes pancake mix while cleaning the pantry and decided to try for our breakfast for dinner. They were so YUMMY!!!

Last week, The challenge was organize under your sink.
This one was easy, I just wiped out the cabinet and reorganized
all the cleaners (well stocked from GROVE).
