{good things thursday}

-Mom had knee replacement surgery on Tuesday and is coming along well! She got out of the hospital today, and she and Dad moved over to the hotel for a couple of weeks while she has her PT. I am so glad she went ahead with the surgery and hope that she will now be able to move around and do things without pain. Praying for a quick recovery! We'll be bike riding again before you know it!

-It's that wonderful time of year! FALL....which means all things pumpkin!! While I always love pretty much anything pumpkin, it's not until September rolls around that I really become obsessed!  While waiting for Mom to have her surgery, I made a pit stop at Dunkin' Donuts for a pumpkin spice latte and a very yummy pumpkin glazed donut.....and I also couldn't resist a box of pumpkin coffee!

....and look what else showed up at the grocery store today.....

I just love this time of year!!!

-football games

(1) 12/18/09 Ravens vs. Bears
We never actually made it to this game. :0( We left that weekend with tickets to our very first football game (actually, I don't think I got a ticket for that game- I was going to do some last minute shopping while they went to the game). If you remember, we had a major snowstorm, which filled the Ravens stadium and the stands literally had to shoveled by hand in order to get it ready for the game. We had stayed in Salisbury and had planned to drive to Baltimore on Sunday morning for the game. We watched ESPN and the local news to see if we should attempt going, since the Bears still hadn't gotten there yet. We first heard that the game might be cancelled, then we heard it was on. Peter talked with a friend in Baltimore and he said the roads had been cleared, but parking would be crazy. So, we never got to go to our very first game.

(2) 10/10/10 Panthers vs. Bears
This was an awesome trip! The three of us drove to Charlotte (about 7 hours) on Saturday. We checked into Residence Inn (could see the stadium from our room). We got an upgrade to a two room studio- awesome hotel! We had a yummy dinner at Rock Bottom, then called it a night. We were up bright and early the next morning, and after a delicious breakfast (one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had), we walked over to the stadium. Nathan was so excited! We went down to field level to get pictures and maybe an autograph. The weather was amazing and we had a great time at the game. The Bears won! :0)

(3) 10/18/13 Redskins vs. Bears
Peter, Nathan, Kayla, and I drove to Washington to see this game. We stayed at a Residence Inn close to the stadium. Dinner and a movie (Captain Phillips) on Saturday and game day on Sunday. Cutler got hurt, but McCown came in and did an awesome job. We still lost, but played a good game and we had so much fun!!

Looking forward to our next football game road trip!! :O)
