My Cinderella Watch!

• this treasure found it’s way back to me today💗@nursevalarie came across it in her keepsakes - my Cinderella watch from almost 50 yrs ago!! 💗 

We had traded each other things and this was my trade - I had forgotten about it until she gave it to me today - and I was so overwhelmed! 💗 

what good memories came back to me of the many, many hours we spent together growing up, and what a special gift to hand over to my granddaughter Kamry! 

She loves it!! 💗 and it still works perfectly!! 

Thank you Val, for this unexpected, special gift!

Birthday ~ Fun Day

After dinner, the rain had stopped, so we walked around a bit more in Disney Springs. The shopping is wonderful: Anthropologie, Kate Spade, Lilly Pulitzer, Sephora......I loved browsing through all the shops.

We also stopped as we made our way back to the bus stop to listen to the live music and dj.

We thought about possibly going over to one the Magic Kingdom/monorail resorts and watching the fireworks, but I suggested going back to our resort and just relax by the pool. Peter was just fine with that. What an amazing birthday--this one will be hard to top! :O)

Dinner: The Boathouse

@ Disney Springs 

This was a first time experience for us dining at The Boathouse. I had chosen it for my birthday dinner and overall, we really enjoyed it. I'll be completely honest and say though, that I regretted using 4 of our dining credits for this one meal. We had had some amazing food/experiences at the 2-credit restaurants we had chosen during our trip, and while this one was good, I probably won't choose it again unless we do lunch there OOP. 

I got the Lobster Bisque as an appetizer and Peter chose the Steamed Mussels in Cioppino Broth 

We both ordered the 12-oz Filet Mignon Oscar-Style 

{jumbo lump crabmeat, asparagus, and béarnaise}

We added the Roasted Brussels Sprouts....

For dessert, we both chose the Key Lime Pie in a Mason Jar

{with vanilla bean chantilly cream}

[$165.87 = 4 TS credits + $36.21 OOP + cash tip] 

Again, while we had a wonderful dinner at The Boathouse, it didn't WOW me like some of the others had and they didn't cost near as much.

But it's my birthday, and I sure will remember this special day and dinner!

Birthday in Disney!!!!

We had a dinner ADR in Disney Springs, and it was supposed to rain off/on today, so I had the perfect inside birthday fun in mind!! 

First.....LUNCH!!

I had read very good things about D-Luxe Burger and they proved to be all true!!

 We both chose the Southern Burger - signature blend beef patty topped w/ a fried green tomato, pimento cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, and bacon ---OMG!!! We shared a large order of fries which were delicious as well as the yummy dipping sauces that D-Luxe is famous for. We both got sodas too.

Next.........

This was soooooo much fun!! We hadn't bowled in years! Peter did great and I was pretty decent too! :O) :O) :O)

Splitsville was really nice, we were in one of the lanes upstairs. You can eat while playing or just get drinks. It was the perfect rainy day fun thing to do. 

Afterwards, we did a little shopping and looking around in Disney Springs until our 5:00 dinner ADR at Boathouse. By that time, the rain was about to start again.

Our 2018 Disney Vacation - Day 6 continued

continued.....

After our wonderful dinner at O'Hana, we went down to the Poly's beach. It was starting to look a little stormy.

This trip had been nothing but relaxing. We were very flexible on our coming and going, and changing our plans for the day was no big deal. As we sat on the beach, we agreed it might be best to skip going back to Epcot, and maybe just return for Illuminations if it wasn't raining. Peter suggested going back to the resort to get the SUV and go out driving/shopping a bit. We have never, until this trip, taken the car out while there, so this sounded fun. We made the right choice, because tonight would be the first of our rainy weather in Florida! 

No worries......

Nothing a trip to Home Goods won't cure!

I was certain Florida Home Goods would have tons of Rae Dunn goodies but I was wrong...pretty much the same stuff I've been seeing in my local stores. I had to buy something, so I thought this WISH mug was the perfect keepsake from our vacation. I picked up some coffee stirrers too. :O)

Then......Peter surprised me with another night stay to our vacation!!!!!!!

It spoke of rain the next day, my birthday, our last park day, and the weather was supposed to be bad at home on our traveling days. Adding a day would give us a (rainy) fun day on my birthday, and a nice, sunny park day on our last day. YAAAA!!!!!!

When we got back to the resort, we added the extra night and we were able to keep the same room, and any dining credits would still be good to use on Wednesday, the day we should have been checking out. 

What an awesome day!
