a weekend of therapy......

a weekend of therapy ☀️🌊 Thursday | Friday • we did our annual White Marlin Open
day in OC and while we lucked out and had the most beautiful weather/temps at the beach, the wind kept most of the boats in on Thursday! We tried subs from Primo Hoagies for lunch - very good [but Anthony’s subs are still our fave]!🤤 Dinner at Crab Alley 🦀🙌🏻 and a room with a [bay] view🌅 a much needed overnight getaway. We were also able to see Mom both days and had a little Kamry visit.❤️

Saturday • unexpected days are the best! We ended up taking Logan back after the funeral and got to visit Mom again❤️ It was such a gorgeous evening we ended up going to dinner at Ray’s Shanty before heading home.🌅

Sunday • we watched church and had a quiet day at home. Dinner on the grill today: chicken/bacon/bbq skewers & grilled cabbage and fresh tomato/mozzarella/basil w/balsamic.

A boat day.....a little getaway.....being with family.....cooking.....these are some things that are therapy for me! What's your therapy? (we checked an item off of our Summer Bucket List ☑️ beach day in OC) @oakridge.live @craballeywoc @white_marlin_open @oceancitymaryland @comfortinngoldcoast @primohoagies #refresh #therapy #summer #summervibes #sunset #boating #boatdays #ocmd #whitemarlinopen #oceancitymaryland #beachday #grilling #raysshanty #freshseafood #craballey #roomwiththeview #comfortinngoldcoast #primohoagies #weekendvibes #littlevisits #lifeinpictures #thisisus #lifeisgrand

Daily Reading Through The Bible - 2018

Books of The Bible Printable Wall Art

I have started reading through the Bible many times, but after a few books of the Old Testament I'd lose interest or get behind and just give up. Back in September, I joined up with Bible Plans on Instagram for a daily-read-through-the-Bible-challenge for 2018!

We started in GENISUS on September 5, reading one chapter per day.

Hebrews 11:3 By faith we perceive that the systems of things were put in order by God’s word, so that what is seen has come into existence from things that are not visible.

"Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” (Genesis 28:15)

We finished Genesis up on November 10th, and then went over to the LUKE in the New Testament.

Luke 11:9

We finished that up on December 14th. I skipped the 10 day Fruits of the Spirit group devotional over Christmas, but picked back up again with reading EXODUS beginning on December 26th.

Exodus 14:14 - The Lord will fight for you, all you need is to be still. Love love love!!

As of today, we have read through Chapter 27.....

I'm excited to see if I can stick to this and actually read through the entire Bible....finally!

[august book club: the girl on the train]

Book Club — The Girl On The Train — Please join in the discussion for our no obligation, no pressure book club. This month we are discussing "The Girl On The Train" by Paula Hawkins. Grab a cup of coffee and get comfy. I welcome you to click thru to read and comment on the discussion page.:

week #1 - pages 1-100

Wanda and I started a book club!!

She had just bought The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, so we are starting with that book for our August selection. I had read it already, but am much more excited reading it this time! I am anxious to get another person's take on this twisted story - if it actually real and is just part of Rachel's make believe world??

We are breaking up the book: read 100 pages then discuss. Today was our first discussion, so after our walk, we stopped at Four Brothers for a treat {Pumpkin Spice Iced Coffee} and chatted a bit about the book so far.

We both agreed that this book is a bit (well, a lot) dark. We both have no favorite characters so far, although Wanda seems to like Rachel's character more since finding out that Emily Blunt will be playing her in the movie.

The movie is scheduled to be released in October, so we are planning to see it to compare.

feeling very Jane Austen-y

Monday:

 movie night with friends.....

Obsessed with Pride and Prejudice, a woman travels to a Jane Austen theme park in search for her perfect gentleman.- Austenland

I would never have chosen Austenland, but so glad we watched it. It is so funny!!!

"Austenland" -This hysterical romp through the world of Austen lovers takes our heroine, Jane Hayes, to England where she gets to enter the world of Austen re-enactment, dressing in Empire-waist gowns, dancing by candlelight and falling—in a stumbling, staggering, lose-your-fan-and-sash kind of way—in love with a certain tall, dark Mr. Almost Darcy.
I don't think I have never read anything by Jane Austen (I know-gasp!), and I haven't even seen Pride & Prejudice, so I wasn't sure I'd like this movie, but I loved it!!

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen- I've read this book at least 10 times and I fall in love with it even more each time.I love this book even more than "Pride and Prejudice." The relationship between the sisters is so interesting.

Austenland is a modern day spoof-type movie, but it made me want to read something by Austen, or at least watch the movies....I plan to take care of that soon!
AAAH! I love this part!! Especially the look Darcy gives Georgiana when she tells Lizzie that he says she plays well it's like "Georgiana, shut up she wasn't supposed to know that!!" :D

Who is this Mr. Darcy everyone is talking about? :O)

Tuesday:

A snow day!

...and in lieu of our morning phone call, Mom and I had tea!

I'm not the big tea fan that Mom is, but I woke up yesterday with tea on my mind! I gave Mom a big gift basket of tea stuff for Christmas, including a canister of loose tea that I had never tried before. I am officially hooked! It was soooo good! I really like my special time with Mom! (Dad was there too, but I don't think he was into the china tea cup stuff like us...men really don't appreciate the whole ambiance concept at all). ;o)

I have been wanting to try scones and found several recipes on Pinterest that look yummy!

Guess who's having tea instead of Diet Coke this morning?

Wednesday:

Even though I had heard rave reviews about Downton Abbey, it just didn't interest me. I've watched the occasional period piece, but it was never my first choice. I was looking for a series to watch this winter, so I went with DA. I borrowed the first few seasons from Wanda and started it last night. Guess who sat up wayyyyy too late last night finishing the entire first season?????

I'M HOOKED!!!!!

Why did I wait so long to watch????

Think of all the good things we miss out on when we won't try something new.

Wanda and I talk every January about getting together more during the year, and trying more, new, fun things! Of course, watching a movie isn't anything new, and neither is having tea or watching the seasons of a tv show, but all three of these were things I wouldn't normally choose. It made me realize how much I miss out on because I don't want to try new things. I almost always choose what is comfortable- it's time to step out of the box! :O)
Don't be discouraged or fearful...step out on faith and make your dreams come true. Join my team and I will show you how it's done www.southhilldesigns.com/piecesofmyheart

While browsing through the tea related stuff on Pinterest, I came across something that might be our next fun get together!! :O) (And I know the perfect hostess!)

Love Downton Abbey? @worldmarket has everything you need to throw a party with style! Stop by to get free Downton Abbey printables and games, too!

I'm looking forward to trying lots of new things in 2015!! Just think of all we miss out on if we don't!
