52 Weeks of Organizing: Attic Floor

52 Weeks to Becoming More Organized
WEEK #2 ORGANIZATION: ATTIC

We started a project right after Christmas, but took a little break since we went on vacation. We've been in our house for 20 years and we had never put a floor down in the attic. We really weren't getting full use of the storage space up there, so we brought it to bear, and started working on it. Peter is doing all of the actual work, but I'm going behind him and getting everything organized.
Here are a few pictures of the progress so far:
before....so much stuff crowding the entrance

before.....

after...the first few boards are down!

Room Re-do: finishing touches

Yes, I am a procrastinator, and yes, it does take me months to complete a project, but for those of you have followed along since the beginning of the room re-do, here are  a few pictures of some of the finishing touches. I've been on the lookout for a few items to put on the entry dresser. Here's what I finally came up with.......

Now to decide on what to hang on the walls. Other than the circle mirrors, I haven't hung anything else yet.
I am loving this room! It's always nice to have a space to blog, read, nap, watch a movie, or just have some quiet time.

52 Photos/Week #3- Community

For this week's word COMMUNITY, I chose this picture of my church that I took during one of our many snowstorms last winter.

DIY Project: Valentine's Wreath

I {heart} Valentine's Day! It's one of my favorite holidays-I guess because it's a whole day set aside just for showing those who are special to us just how much we love them! I love the flowers, the candy, the gifts, the Valentines, the Red Velvet Cake, having a special dinner together, and especially the love I feel on that special day! I really love the decorations and after following Pinterest for awhile now, I've pinned some awesome ideas! I saw this wreath that a fellow blogger shared and I knew I wanted to try to copy it. Follow the link to find the tutorial for the Valentine's Day Berry Wreath w/ Frame.

Here's a picture of the wreath I copied:

Here's my version:

COST: $0
I had all the supplies. I took apart a berry wreath that I had and hot glued it to a larger wreath form. I painted an old 8x10 frame bright red. I printed a page of sheet music from a site I found on Pinterest which I added some scrapbook supplies to to create the picture to put inside. And, for the first time ever, I tried my hand at making fabric rosettes....super easy!!! Here is the tutorial. The picture showed lace and button rosettes, but I didn't have any lace on hand, so I improvised. I really like how it turned out!! I put out my banner flag and framed a Valentine's Day printable....move over snowmen, it's time to celebrate {heart} day!!!
