mornings....

Seek God Early. We are to spend time with God -- continually. When we do, we get in the flow of His plan for our day. We are not told just to wish for everything to work together, we are told to seek God for a fresh word each day. Remember, the enemy tries to bring us down and seeks to destroy us. If he steals away our time with the Lord in the morning, we may miss out on the Kingdom life that entire day! When you don't seek Jesus first thing in the morning, you tend to forget to seek Him first:

French Press Mornings - Psalm 30:5 #encouragingwednesdays #fcwednesdaywisdom #quotes:

I love when my readings for the day overlap....My calendar said "Take a moment today to think about something wonderful God has done for you" and my devotional faith step was..."Write a thank-you to Jesus for all that He has done for you".

Stitch Fix #7 - May 2017

Stitch Fix #7 - May 2017

I was away when my box came then it took me two more days before I opened it!!!
Can you tell I was preoccupied!?

I had a new stylist, Kristina, since my regular stylist, Litsa, was on vacation.
It's funny, I could tell right away the fix felt a little different. :O)

I had requested summer tops and capris mainly, so I was happy with the items that came this month.

(1) Liverpool Mirabella Roll Cuff Skinny Jean - $78.00

I've been wanting a pair of white jeans or capris and I absolutely LOVED these!!! They didn't have a zip closure, instead a wide band (they were pull on style). They fit really well and were very nicely made, but in the end I couldn't justify $78! So these were sadly a [RETURN].

(2) Renee C Tif Criss Cross Back Top - $44.00

Again, loved this item, loved the print and the style, and it fit perfectly. I didn't love the sleeves (or lack of), as I don't wear sleeveless shirts if I can help it. Otherwise, I would have kept this top. [RETURN]

(3) Colective Concepts Hauselt Bell Sleeve Blouse - $64.00

This was a definite NO! The color, the style, the fit, the price...just NO! [RETURN]

(4) Gilli Ryland Knit 2fer Maxi Dress - $78.00

I so so wanted this dress to fit as I wanted something new for the rehearsal dinner. Unfortunately, I looked preggo in it, so it was a [RETURN].

Not a good pic...the top was wrap style and the colors were very pretty!

(5) Bancroft Carter Twisted End Cuff - $28

Yep, this is the item I kept only because I didn't want to lose my styling fee again this month. I paid the extra $8 and sent everything else back. [KEEP]

Thoughts: Although I love my regular stylist, Litsa, I was happy to get a different one this month just to get a little different fix. I really loved most everything in the box, it just didn't work for one reason or another.

I am still loving Stitch Fix and get very excited when my monthly box arrives!!

memorial day weekend

5/28/17 - I had to work!! :O( And it rained! :O( but cleared long enough for the Memorial Program to go on. I pretty much miss it every year due to work, and really hated missing it this year since cousin Nick was speaking. Peter was at work this year too so no grilling! I realized I've spent the last two Memorial Day weekends at the hospital - last year with Kamry and now this year with Dad. Not many pictures either except this one of Kamry in her red, white, and blue.....:O) :O)
and this one at the dock in Crisfield from the other day.....

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
I am grateful for all the men and women who have fought for our country or are still fighting and for those who lost their lives in pursuit for our freedom. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

March for Babies Walk

A big thank you to everyone who donated to our team "Kamry's Krew"
for the March of Dimes walk this month!

We were disappointed that the race was cancelled on May 13th, due to bad weather,
but happy that our team raised $1,772.00 to help raise awareness to fight birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

Kamry was born at 29 weeks, weighing 2 lbs. 12 oz. and spent 7 weeks
in NICU at Johns Hopkins. We are so very thankful to the doctors and nurses for
their wonderful care and especially thankful and grateful for
God's blessings to this sweet little girl! Thanks again for your donations
- we look forward to participating again next year!
 - Kamry's Krew

Lindsey, her Mom, and Kamry had a fun day at the March of Dimes gathering
on Thursday. They got to turn in the rest of the collected donations, meet other families, and bring home some goodies including our team banner.

embrace the crazy.....

There is no way it's almost June! No way! May, well, even earlier than that, has been nothing but go, go, go, check off that list, get that done, functions, family, planning, doing, just pure craziness!!! That's my life right now! Crazy-busy! But at the core of all this craziness are the most special people in my life, experiencing some pretty special events, so not only is there craziness and busyness, but also some wonderful memories being made and I am so very happy to share and enjoy their happiness.

I haven't blogged in a month! There just hasn't been time for it. I want to get caught up on posts and pictures before I forget details, so I'll just pick up with today, and do a few back posts as I get time.

Dad was taken to the hospital on Friday evening. He had been having stomach issues all week, and by Friday he was feeling pretty rough. They decided to send him to the ER so they flew him by helicopter to PRMC. Mom wasn't able to fly with him because they had a trainee on board and there wasn't room. We went by boat and Julie met up with us to go too.

Now let me tell you how God works.

As I said before, May has been pure craziness and there have been days when I've been so preoccupied with getting the to-do list done that I wouldn't take the time for quiet time or devotions. But the Lord wants us to be still, to meditate, to rest and sometimes he puts things in our path to slow us down so we can rest and bring our focus back on Him and what's really important. Am I saying we don't have to get things done? No. There are daily chores, family events, and other things that simply won't get taken care of by themselves, there are some things we have to do. But sometimes we let that busyness take over.

When we got to the dock on Friday evening, just before sunset, we had to wait a few minutes for Julie to get there. Wait, with nothing whatsoever to do, just sit there and enjoy the quiet, if only for a few minutes. It was just what I needed. Thank you Lord for your gentle reminders.

"Be still and know...."

Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Exalted = Elevated by praise or in estimation : Glorified:

They ran tests on Dad in the ER and by 1 a.m. finally got him in a room. (I'll let this picture show you how NOT content Dad is in the hospital). LOL ...Bless his heart...this was after many HOURS in the ER. He was so tired and just wanted to go to bed!

Everyone was so nice and helpful and brought in chairs for me and Mom to stay in the room with him. They gave him antibiotics overnight and thankfully, he was discharged the next evening. Final diagnosis was irritated intestines. He will follow up with his doctor this week.

One thing about being in a hospital, there is LOTS of waiting and quiet time. While I was sad Dad was feeling bad and had to go to the hospital, God even used that as a time for me to be still and spend some quiet time with Mom and Dad. I am very thankful that it was nothing more serious and that he is feeling a bit better now. I am also thankful for the reminder to slow down and be still.
