Destination Disney - The Letter "N" & Fun Friday...

Today I'm linking up with Heidi for "Destination Disney"! This week's letter is "N". I couldn't find many N pictures in my files....here's what I came up with.

Nemo....awesome show at Animal Kingdom!!!!!

Noodles....at O'Hana...to die for!!!

Norway.....World Showcase in Epcot.

5Q Friday Sept 30

1. Do you apologize to your kids if you're wrong? Yes, I do, and have on several occasions!

2. Do you have a class ring, letterman's jacket, or similar obscenely priced high school "must have"? I have a class ring, which I wore for only a little while. It has been sitting in my jewelry box now for {years}! Nathan will be picking his class ring out this year. I think picking out the ring is the most exciting part.

3. If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what age would you choose? Actually, the age I am right now is pretty good. I haven't hit 50 yet, I am in pretty good health {as far as I know}, I'm happy, the kids are at a such wonderful age.....Life is good....I think this is where I'd like to stay for a little while longer...if only!! LOL :O)
4. What is your favorite (unused) baby name?
Alternate boys names were.....for Logan...Logan Wesley {after my grandfather who passed away when mom was just 13}, and for Nathan...we almost chose Spence {a family name}. I never got to use any of the beautiful girl's names that I had picked out. Logan would have been Olivia Nicole {Nicole after my sister} and Nathan was going to be either Sydney, Lydia, or Miranda. Another name that we loved was Annie....both mine & Peter's grandmothers were Annie!! :O)
5. If you could make your child like something what would it be? Neither of the boys have a love for reading like I do. As much as they both loved it as kids, they don't do enough of it now...I blame it on choosing computer time over picking up a good book!

2 on Tuesday and Post-It Note Tuesday 9/27

What 2 television shows that have gone off air do you miss? {1} My all time favorite is: Party of 5 (1994-2000). Five siblings are left to fend their own way in the world when their parents are killed by a drunk driver. The series revolves around the struggles of raising each other and the struggles of life in general. Meet the Salingers: Matthew Fox {Charlie} , Scott Wolf {Bailey}, Neve Campbell {Julia}, Lacey Chabert {Claudia}. Other cast members include Jennifer Love Hewitt{Sarah}, Jeremy London {Griffin}, and Paula Devicq {Kirsten}

2} A very close second favorite show is: Gilmore Girls (2000-2007). A drama centering around the relationship between a thirtysomething single mother and her teen daughter living in Stars Hollow, Connecticut. Starring Lauren Graham is Lorelai and Alexis Bledel as Rory. Other cast members include Scott Patterson {Luke}, Melissa McCarthy {Sookie}

Monogram Monday 9/26 ~ DIY Moss Letter

I did a post a few weeks ago about DIY Moss Covered Letters. I really love this ides!! I wanted to make one so, I finally picked up the supplies at Hobby Lobby. I had originally planned to hang it in the kitchen {and still might}, but for now it has found a home in the bathroom. All you need to make one is a bag of moss, your monogram, some ribbon, and a glue gun.

It turned out great! I can always change the ribbon and move it to another room whenever I want to, but for now I like this spot!
Here are a few inspiration pictures from Pinterest:

It's beginning to look alot like.....FALL

#ff63e0 So I shared with you earlier that I had a pumpkin patch growing in my backyard. Well, last week, when the weather turned cooler, I decided it was time for harvest. I gave Mom one of the pumpkins, and I am using the other three. I couldn't wait to paint one of them with polka dots and a big "C", which I copied from a pin on Pinterest.
Harvest Time!!!
from Pinterest

my version

I had some brown polka dotted ribbon and I painted a wooden "C" harvest gold and added these to last year's wreath...I think it turned out kind of cute!! I also bought two gorgeous mums to put on the front steps.

So here's the finished look.....I love it!!! {except that our outside carriage light needs a fresh coat of black paint and our steps need power washing..LOL}.

HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!!!!

Room Re-do part 1

Last week, I did some shopping at Lowes. I had read several blogs about DIY Board & Batten projects, so Dad & I set out to find all of the needed supplies. After much looking & debating, we found what we needed. Next was paint....hmmm...what color to paint this room....it didn't take long to decide because as soon as I saw the "Summer Cottage" sample by Valspar, I was sold! It's a beautiful shade of aqua blue!

I also got to check out Hobby Lobby....what a store!!! :O) Now, I'm a diehard Michael's fan, but oh my, this place was awesome!!! I found lots of great supplies to do some craft projects that I've been hoping to try {and lots of monogrammed stuff}. It was a bit overwheming, but I managed to purchase a few decorating goodies {and @ 50% off!}.
I was looking for some pretty fabric for curtains and pillows, and while I couldn't decide on anything for the curtains, I found these cute bundles of fabric pieces {perfect size for pillow fronts} in the colors I am working with. Score!!! On Monday, Dad started on the board & batten project-here's what we've done so far......it's looking great!!!! I can hardly wait to get it painted!!!
More to come.....
