Spring Cleaning

My Spring cleaning has finally started! I've just accepted the fact that it's never going to get warm, so I may as well just jump in and give the house a good cleaning. Plans are to go through the house as quickly as possible, deep cleaning, organizing, and moving on to the next room as soon as I finish a room. Peter is on his 3 week hitch at work, so I had planned to use this time for cleaning. It was so cold last week, I just couldn't get psyched up about washing windows. I was determined to start this week though, but Monday was my birthday and then I wasn't feeling up to par...excuses excuses....so finally, yesterday, I brought it to bear and started. The guest room has just been redone, so I only needed to wash the sheets and swiffer the floor, then it was on to the den/home office/tv room/nap spot, actually, I just call it the front room....but it really is a multi-functional room. LOL

This is one of my favorite spots....and my desk top computer is a must for me. Until I get a MacBook, I simply cannot blog on my IPad. I love, love sitting at my desk editing pictures and typing out posts. I know it's old school, but it works best for me.

I added a white slipcover to our old sofa and for now, it fits in well.

We did the DIY board & batten a few years ago that I still love. Blog post {HERE} & {HERE}

The paint color is Cathedral Stone by Valspar. It's the perfect shade of greige.
Read {HERE} how I painted this room for under $3.00. :O)

This wall has had several different looks...different wall colors, cabinets, tables.

Now, it's a clean slate and I'm on the lookout for a pretty farmhouse, weathered entry table.
Stay tuned.....{the mirrors will go too probably}.

awesome napping, lounging, tv watching spot!!!

Future project ideas for this room: dark wood floor, replace bay window,
take out that cabinet in the corner and put in a freplace! Hopefully, a fall/winter project this year.

Always need a project in the works!! :O)

Susan, you are the Queen of "Hygge"!!! That word, pronounced "hooga" is a Danish word which is used to describe cozy and comfortable! One Sunday on CBS Sunday Morning, they said the happiest country in the world is Denmark, and the reason it is the happiest country is because the citizens practice hygge!! They take time out of their day to snuggle with a blanket, light a candle, have some favorite comfort food and drink, and just "chill out" with family and friends!!
We all need to practice that more often, and from the looks of your beautiful home, your home is the perfect place to do it!!! :) I love all your wonderfully cerative projects!! They turn out so beautifully!!! I can't wait to see the fireplace some day!
Love, Margaret xoxoxo
