This will probably end up being one of those random posts full of a hodge-podge of stuff that's going on here at our house this week. First things first....it's October...and this new month brought with it some awesome cool weather!!! Finally, the a/c has been turned off {just hope we don't have to turn the heat on}. This is my time of year! I officially have 1 week of work left and I am so anxious to call it a year and stay home for the next 6 months!! Woo-Hoo!! Just to catch you up on what's going on with the room re-do....the entire room has been prepped, primed, puttied, and sanded...but I had some help {thanks Mom, Dad & Peter!} . One corner of the room is completely finished and it looks awesome!! The Summer Cottage paint on the top part of the walls is a beautiful shade of aqua blue, and for the bottom I went with China White instead of the bright white I had thought to use. The China White has a creamier, richer look that I love! First to get painted, was the corner of the room where the tv will go. The tv is huge {our old Sony}, I was very anxious to get it out of the way. Next up, I'll be working on one of the two windows in the room. So far, I've puttied it and primed the wooden curtain rod, it just needs a fresh coat of paint. So far, I have a bamboo roll-up shade to hang, but no curtains yet. They will come a bit later {since I still haven't picked out fabric}. I have some pictures to share, but I need to get them loaded(my computer is being a pain tonight!!}. Keep an eye out for another update soon. So, as I was saying, I'll tie up things at work this week {I should be closed by next Monday} , then I will have so much more time to get this house back into shape!! Nathan is loving his new room {minus missing his brother}, and things at school are going pretty good. Time to start looking for costumes for Halloween!....{love} Halloween! I saw a yummy {easy} recipe on Pinterest- it only has 2 ingredients: a box of yellow cake mix {or spice cake mix if you want to add some....spice}, and a can of pumpkin. I made them this evening and they were really good! :O) I copied the how-to {and pictures} from a fellow blogger-http://sweet-verbena.blogspot.com/2011/08/pumpkin-muffins.html Speaking of recipes, am I last person on earth to discover Ree Drummond, "The Pioneer Woman"??? I've been looking at her website http://thepioneerwoman.com/ WOW!! the food looks amazing!! I saw several recipes that I must try! I also found her show on Food Network {Saturday @ 11:30 a.m. est}. I recorded it this morning and just watched it. Okay....can you say overload on butter?!!! But, she was cooking for a crowd, so she justified using so much.
The twice baked potatoes looked sooooooo yummy as did the from-scratch ranch dressing....Nathan will just love that I'm sure! He puts ranch dressing on everything....yes everything!
Can't wait to try out some of her recipes. That pretty much wraps things up here for this week....come back soon to see updates on the re-do! HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!!
