Top Ten & Pin It Tuesday: Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is such an overlooked holiday, when it really should be one of the most important. A day set aside to give thanks for all the wonderful blessings in our lives. A time to gather together with family and friends. A day spent preparing a delicious meal. Is there any better smell than a turkey cooking???? A day without work, or a schedule. A special day to celebrate. It makes me sad when I go into a store a week before Halloween and all the Halloween stuff has been moved to a clearance aisle and Christmas decorations are now the first thing you see when you walk in. And don't even get me started on Black Friday shopping......retailers have somehow inched their way into opening earlier and earlier each year. "Black Friday" shopping has become "instead of eating Thanksgiving dinner Thursday" shopping. It's okay to get excited about Christmas, but not at the expense of missing out on Thanksgiving, a day to celebrate and give thanks for the many we blessings we have been given.
