Happy 4th!!!
We had a great 4th of July, in spite of the weather! Peter and I celebrated alone (Nathan spends this holiday with Kayla's family and Mom & Dad are still in Chincoteague). We still cook like we are hosting a crowd - we love the 4th of July and 4th of July food!!
The rain cleared around 4:00, so Peter was able to grill. We ended up eating inside because it was a bit humid and buggy after the rain. We had steaks w/onions & mushrooms, bbq wings, deviled eggs, jalapeno poppers, fresh tomatoes, and onion dip & chips (and Chicken in a Biskit crackers for me!).
For dessert, I made a Banana Split Pie..yummmm!!
After dinner, we went over to the beach. The skies looked threatening.......
but cleared while we were there.
I took way too many cloud pictures....but they are so pretty! :O)
Peter put the kite up for awhile, but there wasn't much wind.
We took a boat ride before heading home.
We went to get Peter's Dads flag down, then came home and had dessert.
No fireworks tonight! :O( The rain set in again around 8:30,
so they are set for tomorrow night.
We'll just stretch the 4th of July out a little longer! :O)
