Peter and I rented a house in OBX the first week in November 2008. Of course, we would much rather go during the summer months, but most of our vacations don't happen until after my season at the b&b ends. It actually turned out to an Indian Summer that fall, and the weather was awesome! We ended up renting a house in Avon {a great location} which is located about mid-way the Outer Banks.
Our rental "Changes in Attitude".......favorite features of this house: the hot tub on the deck just off the master bedroom, the hammock swing on the porch, and the kitchen {it was so spacious & pretty!!}. I fell in love with all of the Fiesta dishes!
this picture doesn't do it justice at all!
We ate out most every night at some awesome restaurants, but we ate breakfast in and I cooked dinner on two of the six nights we were there.
We did all the usual stuff you do on a trip to OBX: Wright Brother's Memorial, Aquarium, Hatteras Lighthouse, ferry to Ocrocoke, Rodanthe Pier, the beaches.....
The house from the movie "Nights in Rodanthe".....we didn't go to see it until our last day and it was raining, so this was as close as we got to it.
This is the store in the movie...Richard Gere stood right here!! :O)
One of my most favorite things of this trip, was climbing the lighthouse in Corolla. Peter is afraid of heights, but ended up climbing too. I stood by the rails at the top with my video camera. It was amazing!! :O)
