Hoo Are You???? Q's

1. If you could choose one of your personality traits to pass on to your children, what would it be? I try really hard to be a glass half full kind of person, so I'm going to say my positive attitude. Negativity can really bring you down!
2. What's your favorite candy bar?
Hmmm...I'd say a Milky Way or Carmello...definitely something with caramel.
3. If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be? Outside the U.S, I'd choose Australia. Inside the U.S., I'd choose New York. I've only spent one night there and that was not long enough!!!
4. What 3 adjectives would you use to describe yourself? Happy, loving, & caring

5. In one word, how would your best friend describe you?
Loyal

Monogram Monday Aug 15~Jewelry

I've always had an obsession with monograms. Actually, growing up I remember having several initial necklaces, and truth be told, you could probably find one of them in my jewelry box right now! I also remember the year mom decided to get my sister and I monogrammed sweaters. Hers was heather gray and mine was navy. I {loved} mine, Julie...not so much. LOL!! I'm so glad monorams are popular again.....especially love the cute little "initial" necklaces!

Weekend Catch Up

Wow! What a difference a week makes. This time last week I posted that Logan would be getting off the boat on Wednesday, and wanted to look for a place to live. Well, he did get off on Weds, and I met him on Thursday and after looking at only 3 places, he found the perfect apartment and signed the papers!! He found a beautiful, spacious 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom apartment in MD that was move in ready that day!!!! In the beginning, he had thought he wanted a single family home, but he thought more about only being home 2 weeks out of the month, and decided that an apartment would suit his needs better. He came home on Friday to pack up all of his stuff and yesterday Peter & I helped him move into his very own place. We pretty much cried the entire way up the highway as we followed behind him. We stopped by Walmart so that he could pick up some things he needed like a vacuum cleaner, shower curtains, towels, etc. and we gave him his birthday $$ early and he picked out his dishes, silverware, & pots and pans. After unloading all of the stuff, Peter & Logan headed to Best Buy since he needed to buy the most important thing for his new place....the tv and surround sound. He ended up with a 55" LED. :O) I stayed behind and started setting things up. I had pretty much finished everything by the time they got back. We headed out with him to do some furniture shopping. He bought a really nice sofa, end table and coffee table, console table, and a night stand for his bedroom. Best of all, they delivered the same day!!!
It was such a bittersweet day.....we are so excited for him, but Peter and I had several teary moments. It was a hard day! For those of you who have had children move away from home, you know exactly how I'm feeling!!! It's a strange feeling, I'm really not sad, as I am so excited and happy for him, and I am so lucky that things worked out that he was able to live at home with us so long, but it is such an empty, sad feeling that keeps coming over me. Everyone tells me that it gets better, I sure hope so!! We are so proud of him, and happy for him, just really miss not having him around!!

On another note, Nathan is ready to move into his room...like now! Hopefully, tomorrow, I can get in there and pack up all the stuff Logan left behind {he had wayyyy too much stuff!!!}. Then maybe we can start working on making it Nathan's room. I think the makeover will help- because right now going in there makes me really sad! :O( Nathan starts his student driving on Tuesday {can this Mom have any more transitions to go through this week????}. He's a little nervous, but I know he'll be just fine.
Peter has to take his Mom to Baltimore tomorrow. Her sister is having surgery and she wants to be with her. Please keep her in your prayers as she has a 6+ hour surgery to face. They will be spending the night, so I'm hoping Nathan & I can have movie night or do something fun together-just the 2 of us!
Whew....just typing this is making me tired! What a busy time here at our house....and I didn't even mention how hectic work is!!!

Thoughtful Thursday ~ Aug 11

Last night Peter and I watched the movie
Soul Surfer.
All I can say is WOW! What an awesome, moving, and inspiring movie!! I highly recommend it to all - be sure to watch!! I really want Nathan to watch it too- it's a must see for all youth!

SOUL SURFER is the inspiring true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm
in a shark attack and courageously overcame all odds to become a champion again, through her sheer determination and unwavering faith. The film features an all-star cast, including
AnnaSophia Robb and Helen Hunt, with Carrie Underwood in her film debut, and Dennis Quaid. In the wake of this life-changing event that took her arm and nearly her life, Bethany's feisty determination and steadfast beliefs spur her toward an adventurous comeback that gives her the grit to turn her loss into a gift for others.

A favorite quote and Bible verse from the movie:

"It's hard to look at things that are too close."

Jeremiah 29:11{NKJV}
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Top Ten Tuesday- Aug 9 - Home Office

For this week's Top Ten Tuesday, it's all about finding the perfect desk.....& chair, for my soon-to-be office/craft room/den!! It is going to be so much fun deciding on paint colors, fabrics, furniture, & accessories. I want to clear the room out and start with a clean slate. Right now, I'm trying to decide on a desk, and what color to paint the desk, and I'm also on the lookout for a pretty...yet comfy...desk chair. Looking at the pictures below, it seems that I tend to be drawn to the color green. :O) So, here are 10 desk/chair ideas I've pinned so far on Pinterest.{btw....have I told you how much I {heart} PINTEREST??}
