Chalkboard Paint & Flowers

Can't get enough of these chalkboard paint projects. Mom gave me some herb and flower seeds to plant, so I decided to use a couple of clay pots that I had stored in the shed. They looked a little plain, so I copied this cute idea I'd seen on several other blogs. Once again, I pulled out the chalkboard paint (I still have over half a qt. left!), painted an oval for the "label", and marked each pot with chalk. Love them!!!! :O)

I also bought some flowers to plant in front of the house. Here they are before getting planted. Now, I need get some pictures to show you how the yard looks now!

3. What were your wedding colors to be? We had a small wedding, but the bridesmaid's dress was pink.

My all time favorite vacation spot is Walt Disney World!! (see previous posts for trip recap), but, another vacation spot that I love is New York City. I took a 2 day ladies-only bus trip a few years ago and we had a blast! We were there the first week of December and it was such an awesome experience. Everything was decorated for the holidays and we saw the tree all lit up at Rockefeller Center, it was so beautiful! We did most of the usual NYC tourist stuff: a carriage ride in Central Park, Top of the Rock for an amazing view of the city, shopping at Macy's, and a highlight of the trip, we saw the Today show being taped (and got our picture w/Meredith Vieira). I {heart} NY!!! I hope to go back again someday with my family for a longer vacation.

Day 17 - an art piece (drawing, sculpture, painting, etc)
I didn't choose your typical art piece for today's blog journal topic, I chose instead the famous structure, the Eiffel Tower. How beautiful! The Eiffel Tower (French: La Tour Eiffel, [tuʁ ɛfɛl], nickname La dame de fer, the iron lady) is a puddle iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. Built in 1889, it has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris[10] and the most-visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year. Named for its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair.

The tower stands 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-storey building. Upon its completion, it surpassed the Washington Monument to assume the title of tallest man-made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years, until the Chrysler Building in New York City was built in 1930; however, due to the addition in 1957 of the antenna, the tower is now taller than the Chrysler Building. Not including broadcast antennas, it is the second-tallest structure in France after the 2004 Millau Viaduct.

The tower has three levels for visitors. Tickets can be purchased to ascend, by stairs or lift, to the first and second levels. The walk to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the walk from the first to the second level. The third and highest level is accessible only by elevator. Both the first and second levels feature restaurants.

The tower has become the most prominent symbol of both Paris and France, often in the establishing shot of films set in the city.

{one} Have you ever gone to see a movie by yourself? Nope
{two} Would you rather go through a tornado or a hurricane? Of course, I don't want to experience either, but if I had to choose, I'd say hurricane, because you have a little more warning and can get out of town if you need to.
{three} Have you made summer vacation plans?Since summer is the busiest time for me at the b&b, no major plans, except for maybe a night away. We normally take our vacations sometime in Jan or Feb....planning on going back to FL in 2012.
{four} What's your favorite accessory? I don't really have a fave, but I probably wear my watch most.
{five} Have you ever been thrown a surprise party? No, and they better NOT!!
{six} Are you friends with your neighbors? Yes, all of them! :O)

my dream house.....part 2

Yesterday's blog journal topic was "my dream house". I decided that instead of just posting a picture of the house I dream of, I'd share pictures from several rooms that I love. I posted pictures of the kitchen yesterday (and thought the kitchen was my favorite room, but now I'm wondering.....). Today we move on to bathrooms :O). Okay, for me, it's all about the bathtub!!! Ceramic tile, doubles sinks maybe, but it's gotta have a big TUB!

I love the tile, the tub, the double sink/cabinets, the colors....yep, I love this one!
