Our Disney Vacation 2016 - Day 6 (Epcot part 2)

Day 6 - Tuesday, March 8, 2016  Epcot & Yacht Club

I finally made it back to Test Track, where we were supposed to meet up. Peter wasn't there yet, so I got in line at Cool Wash to get a frozen Coke ($4.59 or 1 SC). As soon as Peter showed up, we both agreed it was time for a resort break!! We stopped by the food court to fill our mugs, pick up a few snacks (OOP), and get our favorite frozen strawberry fruit bars ($7.50 or 2 SC). :O)

We had a dinner ADR at Captain's Grille at Yacht Club tonight. We had never eaten there but had read great reviews! I knew we could walk over to Epcot from YC after dinner, but getting there took a little more planning. We could take the bus back to Epcot, but then we would have to walk all the way across the park, around World Showcase to the International Gateway, then a little farther to Yacht Club. We have done this a few times before BUT tonight, we weren't up to that much walking!! The easier (and more relaxing) way is to take the bus over to Hollywood Studios and take the boat ride over! :O) One of my favorite rides! We did just that, and arrived only a few minutes late for our ADR. We were seated right away, and had the best waitress of our trip (her name escapes me now, but we did give her a great review on the way out!). :O)

We had both enjoyed the different salads we had tried during the trip,
so tonight, we both ordered the
Farmers' Market Salad - roasted beets, strawberry, caramelized red onioons, spring greens, almond granola, honeyed goat cheese and sun-dried cherry vinaigrette. DELISH!

Peter ordered the
Beer-braised Mussels and Clams - chorizo, fines herbes, garlic-herb butter with toasted focaccia for his appetizer. Peter said they were one of the best mussel dishes he had eaten.

For our entree, we both chose the
New York Strip - creme fraiche whipped potatoes, roasted mushrooms, oven-cured tomatoes and cabernet reduction. YUM!!!

And for dessert.....
Seasonal Fruit Cobbler - with Toasted Oatmeal Streusel and Sour Cream Gelato.
Ours was apple and it was delicious (but wayyyyy too much to eat!)

$94.00 (or 2 TS credits) + $21.30 (OOP) + cash tip

We will definitely return to Captain's Grille!!!!

After dinner, we strolled over to Epcot. The photos below were taken from Beach Club beach...one of our favorite spots in Disney!! I could have stayed here the rest of the night and been perfectly happy!

We got back in Epcot just in time to watch Illuminations, then headed back to the resort. We were both worn out! We ended up walking 23,637 STEPS today!!!!!!!!! That's 10.2 miles!!!!! We had one day left and we were both very sad! It's usually at this part of our trip that we decide to add another day to our stay, but this year was different because we were booked to fly back early on Thursday morning! Our trip had been amazing and we really hated to see it come to an end!

coming up.....day 7 - our last day in Disney!
