{empty-nesters}

Empty nest syndrome.........a feeling of grief and loneliness parents may feel when their children leave home for the first time...............

all packed up & ready to go.....

frogg-toggs {just in case the weather doesn't co-operate!.....images of huge waves washing over the deck keep coming to my mind....note to self: stop watching Deadliest Catch}

Today is the big day....Nathan left this morning for 2 {possibly 3} weeks to train for his new job! Peter and I are very excited for him, but you can imagine the strange feelings we have as our youngest son leaves home. Lucky for us, he isn't leaving for good! He will continue to live at home during his 2 weeks off {hopefully for a loooooonnnnnggggg time!!}. I think this will help to ease us into the next phase of our life, and hopefully, by then we'll be ready! For now, we plan to keep busy, and try to enjoy.....eating whatever and whenever we want {I see many meals in front of the tv in our future}...... doing less laundry {although, I really don't mind doing 14+ loads per week}, and going to bed before midnight {this might be a good thing :O)}. We're going to try to enjoy our time alone....just the 2 of us... for the very first time in 25 years. Can you tell we're trying to convince ourselves that it's going to be great??? :O(

I have learned one thing though, while raising our boys.......if they are happy and okay....then I am too! :O)

Good luck Nathan.....stay safe......see you in a few weeks......we love you!!! xoxo

My daughter just moved into her house on campus next week and she won't be coming home in the summers anymore - another adjustment in the empty nest :-)
