Our Disney Vacation 2016 - Day 2 (Epcot pt. 2)

Day 2 - Friday 3/04/16 Epcot Day (part two)

It was in the mid-80's and sunny today, so we decided to take a break from the park and spend some time at the pool. We stopped in the gift shop and bought beach towels and also picked up our refillable mugs at the food court ($18.18 each - included in dining plan). We changed into our bathing suits and then spent the next 1-1/2 hours in the pool and relaxing in the shade of the palm trees. :O) I had taken a few pool area pics before it opened that morning.

.....and these were the only bathing suit pics! LOLOL. :O)

We went back to the room and got ready for dinner. We had an ADR at Teppan Edo in Japan for 7:20, so by 6:15 we were back on the bus headed to Epcot. We both love hibachi food and have eaten at several Japanese steakhouses, but never in WDW. I was a little apprehensive about sharing a grill table with 6 people we didn't know, but we ended up being seated with a nice group of high school seniors from NJ, especially the young man sitting next to me. It ended up being fun and the food delicious!

Peter and I both ordered the filet mignon, that was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. I had seen that scallops were one of the choices, but they were not offered on the menu tonight. I love scallops so I was a bit disappointed, but the filet more than made up for it and then some! The meal included: salad, noodles with veggies, flavored rice, and your meat of choice. It was super crowded, but we didn't mind, with a hibachi meal the food is served quickly (and is quite entertaining to watch as it is being prepared). For dessert, I chose the vanilla/green tea swirl ice cream and Peter got a slice of mango cake (that I can't find on any online menu) with a side of vanilla ice cream. Our meal was delicious! While Teppan Edo won't be a yearly stop, we will definitely go back again sometime.

It was almost time for Illuminations to start once we were finished with dinner. It had breezed up a bit and we were sorry that we hadn't brought our jackets (since we had both gotten a sunburn today and were a little chilled). We enjoyed Illuminations as usual, but made a quick exit back to the bus stop as soon as it was over since we were ready to call it a night and planned to return on Tuesday.
