Prom 2012

It's over...:O( after months of anticipation, the Prom of 2012 is now officially in the books! It's Nathan's junior year, so he was able to invite a date.....no debating on that one...he asked Kayla way back in January. Over the past week and a half, we {parents/teachers/others} spent every night getting the gym decorated for the big day. It looked beautiful, especially the table settings.
I've mentioned before that we are part of a very small community, but we are very big on community events, prom being no exception.
Finally, the much awaited event had come. Everyone looked gorgeous! It's funny though because the guys have such an easy part when it comes to prom- girl tells guy what colors she's wearing, guy picks out tux, guy waits for the big day to arrive, showers/shaves and gets dressed......that pretty much sums up the minutes of preparation it takes! :O) LOL

Girls on the other hand, well, let's just say I'm really glad I had boys! :O) I must say though, everyone looked amazing! The dresses, the shoes, the hair, the accessories.....they were simply gorgeous! Prom is a very big deal you know!
The events of the night went something like this:
  • pick up date @ 6:00 p.m.
  • pictures at school @ 6:30 p.m.
  • Grand March @ 7:00 p.m.
  • dinner at local restaurant after Grand March
  • DJ/dancing at gym until 2 a.m. {w/chocolate fountain and other snacks}
  • then scavenger hunt until 4:30 a.m.
  • breakfast at local restaurant
  • dates ends somewhere around 6 a.m.
Nathan said the night "flew by".....really? 12 hours? Does that mean he had a blast??? He sure did! :O)
....she looked so beautiful!

Nathan spotted Kayla's mom and pointed her out. :O)
I told you everyone was gorgeous!!

"Time After Time"
I must admit that I only got a few hours of sleep last night {and I had to go to work very early this morning}, but there is just something so special about Prom that makes it all so worth it!! The kids had so much fun....it was definitely a memorable night!

Hi Susan,
Thank you for letting me know about 'Prom'. It's my first time to know about that. We have no such an event to join as a pair in Japan. Sounds exciting.
