5Q Friday...4/12

1. Who mows your grass? Nathan does {and does a fine job I might add!}. Actually, he takes care of several yards during the season, it's his summer job!

2. Do you have a picture wall or picture gallery in your house (show us!)? I do! I love the look of ledge shelves filled with pictures. The pictures can easily be switched out without messing up your walls and you don't get locked into one look. Click on the link to read all about my DIY Pottery Barn Ledge Shelves. Here's a picture:

3. What book and/or blog has influenced your thinking the most?
The Bible is the one book that has challenged my thinking {and living} time and time again throughout the years. No matter what's going on in my life, good, bad, happy, or sad, there always seems to be a verse or reading that helps me.
As for influential blogs, there are many. The blogging world has opened up so many doors for me. From blogs about family, to decorating, to everything in between, there are tons of great blogs. What I love most about my fellow bloggers is that they write about real life stuff, that I can relate to. I follow so many awesome blogs, and discover new ones everyday. I also think that having my own blog has challenged me to dig deeper, to finally journal, and capture with pictures, my life- whether it's just about a normal day or something fantastic going on with my family. Blogging is very inspiring!

4. Do you have allergies? If so, how do you handle it this time of year? Fortunately, I don't have allergies.

5. What's your go to meal to cook in an hurry? One that I can whip up quickly, yet is very yummy, is Alfredo.
Alfredo Sauce:
1/2 stick butter
8 oz. whipping cream
pinch nutmeg
Parmesan cheese
salt/pepper
In skillet, melt butter and pour in whipping cream. Add remaining ingredients and whisk over medium heat until thickened. Cook fettuccine noodles and drain. You can add grilled chicken, shrimp, or even steamed broccoli to the sauce and serve it over noodles. Add a salad and some garlic bread....there you have it, dinner in a snap!
