Linking up for 5Q Friday....
1. Would you prefer having people over for dinner or going to their house? It doesn't matter really. The first years of our marriage, we were all about getting together with couples, taking turns hosting. Once kids started coming along, that slowed down a bit, and we mostly did family get togethers, still taking turns hosting. In most recent years, I seem to prefer entertaining here at our house for family dinners.
2. Favorite Bible verse and why? This week is Holy Week, and as part of that our church has Bible reading in the church all week. We sign up to read for half an hour each day all week. In the past we have read through the entire Bible, but this year we are reading the four gospels only. It has been such a blessing to me this week, and I look forward to that quiet time each day. It is very hard to pick one favorite verse, so I thought I'd choose a favorite from each of the gospels, verses that have spoken to me especially this Holy Week.
Matthew 5:16 NIV-"In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
Mark 16:4 NIV- But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.
Luke 2;10-12 NIV-10)But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. 11) Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ.
John 3:16 NIV- For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
There are so many wonderful verses in the Bible, and many have spoken to me in different ways over the years, depending on circumstances, or where I am in my walk with the Lord. The Good News is that no matter our circumstances, God remains the same, and is always there for us if we will only put our full trust in him each and every day, not just during this most special time of year. My prayer is that I will continue to be blessed as I have been during this Holy Week, today and every day, and that I will continue to search his word and grow closer to Him.
3. What was the first concert you ever attended, and the most recent one? I've only been to two concerts and both were Daughtry!
4. The year is 2025. What are you doing, and what have you done? Well, gee.....I'll be turning the big 6-0 in 2025! YIKES!!! Hopefully, I'll be surrounded by LOTS of grandchildren!!!:O)
