4th of july 2014

After several very stressful days, we finally got to settle down and enjoy a few hours yesterday to celebrate the 4th {on the 5th}.....lots of delicious food, a great time with family, and perfect weather! Mom, Dad, Liz, Mitch, Peter and myself got together yesterday and spent the evening in our backyard. Peter grilled burgers, hot dogs, skewers, and brats. We also had lots of yummy side dishes and cake for dessert.

Strawberry Poke Cake. Recipe here.
mac & cheese, deviled eggs, baked beans, watermelon, onion dip & chips {and of course, my chicken in a biskit crackers}
Mom made the yummiest salad: romaine, grilled chicken, strawberries, blueberries, craisins, carrots, croutons, walnuts, and strawberry vinaigrette dressing....sooooo good!!

Yep, I did eat all of this! {And there may have been seconds!}

kielbasa sausage, fresh pineapple, green pepper, and onion with teriyaki marinade
finally got a good picture of us!

what a nice evening on the patio....

my mom & dad

Susan- I hated to hear about the Chesapeake House! Glad no one was injured, however I'm sure that good food is going to be missed by many this summer!
