30 spaces/ 30 days: bakeware

3) bakeware storage
I was very anxious to organize this space since I finally got some new bakeware!

I cleared out this spot {a mess!}......

I had been keeping my baking dishes in the bottom of the kitchen island along with baking pans, cooling racks, etc., but decided to give my new dishes their own spot.

Now, I only have cake pans, muffin tins, cooling racks, etc. in the island cabinet....
I have a table full of stuff that I'm not going to use anymore. Time to have a yard sale I guess!

The drawer in the island also got culled over....

30 Spaces/ 30 Days: medicines

2) medicines
I keep all medicine on the top shelf of one of the kitchen cabinets. I store over the counter stuff in a plastic storage container. We keep meds we take daily in a small container on kitchen counter. Neither of us take much medicine, so this space didn't take very long to organize.

**A few ideas for medicine storage/organization.
I like these tiered storage containers.

Labels make things easier to find.

This is similar to how I store over the counter medications.

This is a great idea for keeping track of dosage for kids.

30 spaces/30 days: medicine cabinet/ vanity

The holidays, the wedding, going back to work....I've made excuses long enough! It's time to get this house organized....again!
I'm pulling out my 30 Spaces/ 30 Days list and will spend the month of June sorting, throwing away, and organizing. I will also share a favorite organizing tip for each space.
I'll start in the bathroom, since I've been running low/out of everything!

(1) medicine cabinet/ sink vanity - cabinet cleaned out, expired products thrown away, list made, and space organized.

**One of my favorite ways to organize in the bathroom: apothecary jars.
You can use these clear glass jars to display soaps, Q-tips, cotton balls, bath bombs, make-up brushes, and other items.

book club: week #5

Book Club Day
Week #5

18) Have you ever thought about the legacy of your marriage and what it means to future generations? Has there been a time you've decided to stick with it even though part of you wants to walk away?

We have tried to show our boys a good example of a good marriage, but we have also let them know that it takes a lot of hard work and everything is not always perfect. It's important to communicate with each other, and put the other person first. There are times when we get mad at each other, don't agree on things, or get on each other's nerves, but no matter what, we love each other.

19) When you look at your spouse, what do you see? What are the qualities he has that you value, even though you may not even realized when you first married him?

I know I can count on him, no matter what. I know that he loves me, and that he will take care of me and always be by my side. It's funny as you grow older, as the kids move away and it's just the two of you again, how having a good relationship becomes even more important.

20) Melanie uses The Antelope in the Living Room as six words that sum up her marriage. What are six words you'd use to describe your marriage? Do those six words change depending on the day?
