21 Day Organizing Challenge - day 4

day 4 - under the kitchen sink There really wasn't much organizing to do here as I don't keep alot of stuff under the kitchen sink. I do love that the trashcan tucks away nicely under the sink. I keep a basket of frequently used cleaning products, as well as a bin with a few other things I use less often. I keep a tray, cutting board, and oversized platter under there as well. I also keep a fire extinguiser handy!

{after}One of my favorite cleaning products: Weiman Stainless Steel Wipes for the stove, dishwasher, and microwave.... (our fridge is almond :O(.....but it still works! Maybe someday I'll have matching appliances!!)

Summer Blooms

I just love all the beautiful summer blooms, especially the hydrangeas and lilies. Even the lily pad in our fountain is blooming this year! Simply beautiful.......

Happy 4th of July!!!!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Happy 4th of July!!! Hope everyone has a safe and happy day! I spent the morning preparing some of the food for our dinner, before heading to work. What a busy, busy, busy {yes, that busy!!!}, weekend it has been! Got off work by 2:00 and came home to finish getting ready for our 4th of July gathering. Mom, Dad, & nephew Derek, joined Peter, Nathan, & I for a cookout at our house. Logan is away at work, but he called to wish us a Happy 4th. We had a wonderful dinner! Peter grilled the chicken, burgers, hot dogs, & brats...YUM!! Mom and I made baked macaroni & cheese, deviled eggs, crabcakes, corn on the cob, baked beans, onion dip/chips, brownies and we bought some coleslaw, potato salad, and a watermelon. It was sooooo good! I'm glad Dad was feeling well enough to enjoy dinner as he is recovering from his recent hospital stay and is awaiting surgery. {I made a Flag Cake for dessert}

It was nice to get together with everyone! After dinner, we cleaned up and packed away the leftovers {which we'll enjoy tomorrow}, Peter, Nathan, & I headed to the beach for awhile. Nathan stayed a little longer with some friends, but Peter and I came back early after our ride on the beach on the 4 wheeler. The fire dept. will do the fireworks tonight around 9pm, so we'll go out to watch. What a great day!{A lady on our street made this out of clam shells...cute!}

Life Is Good...

Relax & Surf SundayIn 1989, Bert and John Jacobs designed their first tee shirt. They knew nothing about the business. For five years, the brothers hawked tee shirts in the streets of Boston and traveled the East Coast, selling door-to-door in college dormitories. They collected some good stories, but were not very prosperous. They lived on peanut butter and jelly, slept in their van, and showered when they could. Chicks were not impressed.
By the Fall of 1994, heading home from a long, less-than-fruitful roadtrip, Bert and John were desperately searching for answers to keep the dream alive. Little did they know, the only answer they needed was back in Boston, hanging up on their apartment wall.
Jake's contagious grin, simple as it was, seemed to express everything the Jacobs brothers believed in.
One fateful September day, they printed up 48 Jake shirts for a local street fair in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They laid the shirts out on their rickety card table. By noontime, all 48 of those tees were gone. A star was born. Soon Jake was introduced to local retailers, and his simple message of optimism was embraced like nothing the brothers had ever seen. As demand for product soared, Jake's team grew, and the Little Brand That Could began to spread across America. Today, the New England based brand stays close to its roots, with an emphasis on simplicity, humor and humility. Through Life is good Festivals, positive products, and a steady dose of ping pong, Jake's crew does its best to keep the good vibes flowing.

I {heart} this company! So far, I only have two of the t-shirts, but I've been looking over the website and found lots of cute stuff that I've put on my wish list.
I bought my first tee in OC, MD @ The Kite Loft shop (I got it in aqua). Mom gave me this one for Christmas (in Hot Fuchsia). Hello Sunshine!
I really like the back pack, it would be perfect for traveling! This one would be nice for the 4th of July!!!

Do what you like, Like what you do............what a great motto! :O)

1. If you had the opportunity to bungee jump, would you? NO WAY!!!!
2. Would you rather go to the movie theater or to the drive-in? I love going to the movies and prefer the theater. I've never been to a drive-in, except for Sci-Fi Diner restaurant at DHS! We had lunch there in February during our trip to WDW. So cool!!! :O)
3. Do you have your groceries delivered?
Nope
4. Eyebrows: Do you wax, thread, pluck, or stay au naturel?
Most of the time I pluck, but get them waxed at the salon too.

5. Would the people you went to high school with be surprised by your life today? Not really, I've stayed pretty true to who I was back in high school.
