summer bucket list {update} & a countdown

Summer Bucket List

All we have left to check off is:

* make pineapple ice
and
* walk down the beach.....all the way to the sand bar...& back!

I had hoped to kayak (at least once), but there are none available this summer. While we were out on the boat the other day, we rode all the way around the beach. I mentioned to Peter that we hadn't walked it in years, so we decided to add that to our to-do list, and maybe make it a new tradition (I guess we'll see how in shape ...or out of shape we are before we actually make it a yearly thing!).

August 2014
Outside my window.....overcast, breezy, chance of thunderstorms later.
I am thinking......about FALL! I must admit, I'm starting to think about fall and looking forward to being home again. This has not been the best year at work for sure!
Fall- Added to this will be my wedding anniversary # Pinterest++ for iPad #
I am thankful....for my home and my family...and blogging.....and diet coke. :O)

In the kitchen....yesterday, I made a huge bowl of taco salad. I am super busy today with work, a pedi appointment, and a baby shower, so we'll eat the rest of that, and maybe some chicken tenders or a sandwich.

I am wearing....capris and a grey tee.

I am looking forward to....seeing Lindsey this weekend {and ALL of the wedding pics too!!}

Around the house.....it is SUPER clean!! I finally had a day off yesterday{first day off in at least a month!}, so I gave this house a good cleaning! :O)

where did the summer go???

It's hard to believe that a third of August is over! This summer seems like a blur, next weekend is Homecoming weekend, then Labor Day, then school will start again! Didn't the kids just get out for the summer????

Peter and I have done pretty good with the summer bucket list, and we marked (out on the boat) off the list today.

Gorgeous evening on the water!

Stopped to do a little fishing.....

Didn't catch any fish, but pulled this up with the anchor!

{semi-homemade}

source:Pinterest
(love this sign!!!)
The continental breakfast set up is going pretty good.....made a lot of muffins this month! When pressed for time, I have used a few semi-homemade recipes that are not only time-savers, but yummy too! Here are three recipes that were a hit and have been repeated!

(1) 3 ingredient banana muffins.....

1 box yellow cake mix
3 -4 over-ripe bananas
2 eggs

Mix together and bake according to directions on the box for muffins.
(I added mini chocolate chips to half the batter. You can also add nuts.)

(2) 2 ingredient pineapple angel food muffins.....

1 box angel food cake mix
1 (20 oz. can) crushed pineapple - do not drain

Mix together. That's it!!!

I use cupcake liners for these muffins.

 (You can also bake in a greased 13x9 pan and cut in squares.) Serve with whipped topping.

(3) easy cheese danish

2 cans crescent rolls
{Roll out and press one can in bottom of a greased 13x9 pan.}

Mix together:
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese - softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

{Spread on crescent rolls. Top with second can of crescent rolls.}

Melt together:
1 stick butter
1/4 cup sugar
Cinnamon to taste

{Pour over crescent rolls. Bake @350 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.}
Cool; cut into squares. (I wrap individually.)
