salt life

....nothing but the wind in my hair, the sun on my face, and the smell of salt in the air......what a perfect evening to be on the water! Peter, Nathan, & I went out on the boat earlier this week......just the three of us...no phones, no tv, no computer, just us.....spending a beautiful evening together out on the water.

We Want To Know Wednesdays: Would you rather....

{one} WYR...have your own private jet or your own private island?
Having my own private island sounds wonderful.....make it something like this....

{two} WYR...be very good looking or very smart? Definitely, very smart!
{three}WYR...have the ability to be invisible or the ability to fly? I have ziplining on my bucket list, but the ability to actually fly.....now that would be amazing!

{four} WYR...have the ability to read minds or control the weather?
Since I already feel like some people give way too much information and sometimes talk way more than they should, reading people's minds would only add to the drama! Now, controlling the weather, I would love to be able to do that!:O)
 
{five} WYR...be able to hear any conversation or take back anything you say? Again, hearing any conversation=more drama! I would definitely much rather be able to take back something I've said that I regretted saying.

are you ready for some football???

I never thought I'd turn into a fan of football, but since going to my first ever game in 2010, I've been hooked!! Lately, I've been pinning lots of football stuff, including some delicious-looking- football-watching snacks! I'm so excited for the season to start!

We are Bears fans here at our house! Peter has been a fan since the early 80's...Nathan has been a fan since birth, and is the most devoted fan you'll ever meet. I jumped on the bandwagon too, especially after seeing an actual game!

good things & a look at the calendar

 good things:

Nathan & Kayla are spending quite a bit of time in the kitchen......chocolate covered strawberries one night and chocolate chip cookies the next....can you say "Susan, get back on that DIET!!!":o) But, they were sooooo good!

Speaking of diets, I had done so well with the whole losing weight thing. I kind of went astray sometime around the 4th of July, and I'm still wandering (and eating everything good in sight along the way). I did work up the nerve to finally weigh myself on Monday morning.....I've gained a few pounds back, but it was better than I thought. I need to watch it though, it goes back on much easier than it comes off.
I'll try to do better, after..................we get back from our weekend getaway. I simply can't go to O.C. without eating some Thrasher's Fries and some Dolles Popcorn! :O)
Peter is a bit fretful about the weather. It's looking like we picked the rainiest weekend of the summer to go away. Ok, so what? If it rains it rains....if we can't go on the boardwalk.....plan B: we'll go to the movies. Peter, Nathan, & Kayla are dying to see

We can go bowling...and our hotel has an awesome pool.....dinner somewhere nice....okay, plan B is starting to sound better than the original plan. :O) Anyhow...quit fretting over rain........we'll have an awesome time! I'll be sure to take lots of pictures!!

• Aug 11 & 12- away for the weekend
• Aug 24/25/26- Logan & Lindsey will be here for the weekend {Homecoming} also, my sis & nephew!
• Aug 27- dr. appt for Nathan & finish school shopping
• Sept 2- Peter & Nathan boat docking in MD {Labor Day Weekend}
• Sept 3- Logan's b-day!!
• Sept 4- first day school {this will be my last "first day" of school with my boys} WoW! it's becoming so real that my last child is graduating :O(
• Sept 5- FOOTBALL begins!!!! :O)

I have less than 2 months until we close the b&b for the season.....I've said this before, I really love my job, but I am so ready when October gets here! Summer is super hectic. I am looking forward to cooler temps, putting my jeans back on, pumpkins & mums, and being a SAHM again for a few months......I {{{love}}} FALL!!!!

{2}What is the ONE thing you're never too busy for? my family
{3}They say love is in the little things. What is a little thing someone does to show you love? I have so many! One that I hear every day: Peter always, always thanks me for dinner and tells me how good it was. Both of the boys have picked this up as well. Hopefully, they will do this with their wives someday-it means alot! It definitely is the little things......
{4}What were you doing 30 minutes ago? Talking with Mom on the phone....our morning phone call! :O)
{5}If you could be on any game show what would it be? Even though I hate the show, I would be awesome on the Price Is Right! :O)
