{a wall a day} spring cleaning

It’s raining...but it’s FRIDAY 🌸 and my kitchen is clean, so it’s all good! 🌿 I started a new Spring Cleaning routine - cleaning ONE wall a day...that’s it! If the wall has a window - I wash it, if it has a closet or cabinets - I clean and organize them. It might take a few minutes or several hours —like the day I had the wall with cabinets, a window, and a dirty oven to clean! 🙈 

I finally found the banner I had hidden from myself 🙄 so the coffee bar is all decked out for St. Patrick’s Day 🍀 and looking pretty SPRINGY! 🌸 

Painting the cabinets white is on my to-do list and I’m dreaming of wood countertops - but for now, a clean kitchen will have to do! 💕

I had blocked out a week for the kitchen, but finished in 3 days— so, I’ll move on to another room on Monday, and in the meantime I’ll enjoy the weekend. Happy Friyay everyone! 🌼

Weston didn't like anything I had made for dinner, so scrapple to the rescue. Rowen ate again {even though he had enjoyed the first meal. } LOL

It's that time of year -- time to start some Spring Cleaning. I've been doing lots of decluttering and organizing behind the scenes, but it's time to do some deep cleaning. I started a new method of cleaning a few years ago - doing only one wall each day - thats it - a complete wall. If it has a window, I wash it and if it has a closet I clean it. Today, I started in the kitchen, doing the wall that has all the appliances, cabinets, and a window. It literally took me all day, half of the time cleaning the oven!! First, I cleaned it with the Method Heavy Duty Degreaser I just got in my Grove shipment. It did a fantastic job. I followed up with running the self-clean function and it looks like a NEW oven!! :O) Tomorrow, I move on to the next wall, then the other two walls, then the floor, and finish with the ceiling (wipe down the trim and clean the ceiling fan). I'm also doing a 28 day spring clean challenge and checked off several items today.

Window Pane Ideas

A few months ago,  the window I had over my coffee bar fell off the wall and all but 2 panes shattered (yes! It was a loud commotion and a huge mess!!). I haven't put it back up yet, but I'm ready to use it again. Here's a pic from last year's St. Patrick's Coffee Bar with the window (and my still missing banner!!!) :O(

a few new ideas for my window---->

add a galvanized word 

add some color to the frame + a cotton wreath

a simple burlap bow

strip the paint and weather the frame 

I have a paned door that I'd love to use in our home somewhere.

- this month, in addition to some products I use regularly, I’m trying a few new products to give me some SPRING cleaning motivation. 

I got the Method Heavy Duty Degreaser - and even though I have a self-cleaning oven, it really needs some extra TLC. We’ll see what this stuff can do!

S P R I N G    C L E A N I N G

A few years ago, I started Spring cleaning a little differently. Instead of tearing up a room and putting it back together again, and not finishing it in one day, but messing up the entire house while in the process and getting nothing else done....I started doing [a wall a day]. Yep, one wall---whether it takes 15 minutes or 3 hours, I only do one wall (or floor or ceiling). So starting today, at that pace, my goal is to get the entire house spring cleaned by APRIL 15!!
