Psalm 46:10 has always been one of my favorites, and as you said, God does remind us when busyness takes over in our lives, and we don't make time for Him! That is what my time on Tangier Island always provided for me...time to be still and know that God was with me! He blessed me with that sacred time to let go of "to do lists" and emails and appointments and phone calls and constant demands on my time and energy!
Lately, I've had some of that time to "be still" and feel His comfort. My little, senior, shelter dog I had adopted had been diagnosed with kidney failure in January. She just passed away on May 17. I was so grateful that I had her for these extra months, and I'm grateful that I was able to care for her by slowing down my pace and staying home with her to meet her needs. I miss her terribly, but I am comforted by the thought that she was tenderly cared for and loved during her last months.
Yes, God does remind us of what is really important. Thank goodness He does. Those reminders keeps us from having so many regrets.
Love to you!
