Thankful November {Day 30}

DAY 30 - HAPPINESS

Sometimes I don't feel like I am thankful enough. God has blessed me with such a good & happy life. I have an amazing family, lots of good friends, my family is relatively healthy, we have a nice home, we have jobs that provide security and enough money to pay our bills with some left over to enjoy vacations and to spoil our granddaughter! :O) I am thankful though too for the little things that make my life rich and bring me so much happiness and joy. I am thankful to really know that "the secret to having it all is believing you already do!" <3

Day 29 - LIGHT

This was one of the most beautiful skies I have ever seen!! One of things I am most thankful for are the amazing sunrises and sunsets that I get to see living on the bay.

I love watching Captain JACK Sparrow -- you can find him in Adventure Land in Magic Kingdom. We also love The Pirates of the Caribbean ride there too!

Thankful November {Day 28}

DAY 28 - MUSIC

How exciting it is this time of year...and one thing I LOVE is the music! I love the traditional carols, the old Christmas hymns, and holiday music by today's artists, like Kelly Clarkson and Mariah Carey. I am thankful for the little things, like blogging, time to blog, Christmas music, the tree all lit up, & peppermint hot chocolate.

2. Where do you attend Thanksgiving(s)?

The first one was 11/10 at Logan & Lindsey's house, the 2nd one at Mom & Dad's on Thanksgiving Day.


3. What is your favorite dish? 

The dressing!!!! 


4. What is your least favorite dish at Thanksgiving?

Cranberry


5. What, if any, are your Thanksgiving traditions?

No major traditions (we are pretty go with the flow) but usually do a similar menu every year, parade & football watching, and we started using throw-away plates/cups/baking pans a few years ago! 


6. Name your FAV thing about Thanksgiving.

I just love spending the whole day with my family. 


7. Do you make anything for Thanksgiving? If yes, share what and why. 

I helped cook both dinners, but made pies, sweet potato fluff, and the veggie (collard greens for dinner #1 and Paula Dean's Southern Style String Beans for dinner #2) the day before at home for each dinner.. 



8. Out of everything you eat at Thanksgiving, what can YOU cook the best?

I don't mind cooking any of it, and do a pretty good job on most of it. The gravy used to be my least favorite thing to make, but not anymore!!

13. Have you ever missed a Thanksgiving? 

Never "missed" missed Thanksgiving, but a few years ago we had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Lindsey's family --the first one I had ever missed with my family-ever! 


14. What kind of pie/cake/dessert do you eat for dessert?



15. Do you ever play games at Thanksgiving?

Yes! We were a few days late this year and didn't play until yesterday. Me and Derek are the game players in the family---especially Scrabble!!

17. Is there anyone who normally attended Thanksgiving, that but wasn't there this year? Who?

The reason for dinner #1, Peter, Logan, & Nathan would be at work on Thanksgiving, so Peter & Nathan were absent from dinner #2, along with Julie who hosted dinner at home with her boyfriend Bruce & family. Lois hasn't come in a few years, plus Liz, who's back was out.


18. Name the funniest person at your Thanksgiving this year and tell us more.

We are all funny and love to laugh, but Logan and Nathan together can get rather hilarious!!

I think it's a TIE!!

That would probably be Logan.

Dinner #1 -- Allie Mae!
Dinner #2-- nope

Allie stole a huge turkey wing after dinner when nobody was looking!!! She didn't get to keep it though!!

I've hosted some and cooked for all of them, but never done the entire meal by myself.

DAY 25 & 26 - SURPRISE & LOVE

This time last year, we were in store for the best surprise!!! 





This past year has been a whirlwind of emotions....excitement, fear, concern, worry, joy, happiness, and love. I am most thankful this year for God's mercy and love. April 22nd started out as just an ordinary day, but by 8:54 that night, our world was turned completely upside down. The first few days, weeks, were scary, but thank you Lord, today this precious mommy is here with this beautiful and thriving baby girl to love along with a daddy who adores them both. 















This little girl melts my heart! I am so in love with this adorable, perfect, and precious child! <3

Thankful November {Day 23 & 24}

Day 23 & 24 - HANDMADE & MENTOR

I was just talking the other day about how much I miss Dad making things for me. From pieces of furniture to arrows made from old pallets, he was my Norm Abram. I could easily go to the store and buy these things, BUT, I like the original, and I love when Dad made it!! <3 He has, I think, officially hung up his tool belt. This makes me sad for several reasons. :O( I have a new project in mind, a breakfast bar for the kitchen. I don't like the normal, I don't want a carbon copy, I want a Dad original, from my idea (that he looks at me like really??? then draws it out on paper and it's exactly what I want!!). :O)

I think the idea he thought craziest was the coffee table makeover....

It's one of my FAVORITE pieces!!!!

So, I will probably still stick with my handmade ideas, I just need to find a new Norm.....somehow I have a feeling they will never measure up to Dad. <3

Thankful November {Day 22}

Day 22 - DESSERT

But seriously, that's not me. I love, love food, but believe it or not, if sweets were not in the world, I would not miss them. I rarely bake, but cook - oh how I LOVE to cook, baking, not so much. Peter, the boys, nor myself have to have dessert, so we usually skip it. Of the four of us, Nathan is the sweets eater, but only certain things. Now don't get me wrong, the occasional donut or slice of pie is delicious, and of course, desserts at Disney---out of this world (and included in the dining plan so technically we have to eat dessert), but on any normal day, I'm sweets free!

Which brings we to Thanksgiving......



pecan or pumpkin??? I usually take a slither of both! YUM!!

Today was the release of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life on Netflix! I used every bit of data (plus a few extra gigs) so that Mom & I could watch!! We've watched 2/4 episodes so far.....LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! <3
